The Love Dilemma: Part One
Falling in love consummates the archetypal complexes in each of us that lons for the other to complete us. This sets off chemical reactions and the rest is history: joy, grief and more longing. If we learn to see ourselves as whole and complete without the other, then we can really love deeply without falling out of love with ourselves.
There is no cure! The partners we connect with allow us to practice knowing ourselves especially the parts we are not aware of. A sneaky system we get to repeat until we ‘get ourselves’. The archetypes grab us just for this very reason. Love remains a delicious paradox on the way to true emotional intimacy. That is if you can accept the challenge of potential found in the tension of the opposites.
